PARKER'S STORYBeing a twin is special. Being a mono-mono twin is even more special. Parker got to share the same house as his identical twin brother, Harrison until they were born. That's what made them even more special. Most twins have their own house, but not them. They were all set to be born on November 25th but during Kristyne's last doctor's appointment, they Parker's heart rate was elevated and distressed for some reason. The doctors decided to perform an emergency C-Section to make sure nothing was wrong. However, the doctors were very worried about Parker after he was born, but Harrison (his twin) seemed to be ok. The doctors were worried about Parker's brain and thought he sustained an injury. They did all of these tests and found out that Parker's brain was traumatized because of his umbilical cord becoming compressed which made him lose oxygen for at least 10 minutes. The doctors did not think he would ever breathe on his own without being hooked up to a ventilator. This was devastating news. We had important family and friends come to Meet Parker, and that was very nice. He got to be next to his brother is the same ISCU room for a few days. We were also told that if Parker had died in-utero because of his brain injury, he could have hurt Harrison too. We are so very thankful that Harrison is ok. However, we knew that they had to say goodbye and let Parker go. We are thankful for the 5 1/2 days we got to spend with him. We love and miss you Parker more than you will ever know. |
